Community Connections shines a light on local charities whose compassion, service, and dedication strengthen the fabric of our community. By sharing their stories, we hope to inspire others and help the spirit of giving spread throughout our towns.

An interview with Brian Armstrong, Founder & Executive Director, Ridgefield Fathers Club
How do you brighten our community?
At the heart of the Ridgefield Fathers Club is a simple belief: Be a Great Dad. Not just for our own kids — but for every kid, every family, and every neighbor.
In the last 5 years alone, we’ve donated over $100,000 directly to local charities, youth programs, seniors, and families. We create moments that bring dads and families together — fun events where guys can meet new friends and support our community. We show up for each other. We support local businesses, lend a hand when families need it most, and put the "fun" in fundraising.
And right now, we have a chance to do even more. If we win Fairfield County Bank’s Charity of the Month, that $1,000 will go straight toward a life-saving AED defibrillator for our town. Because when dads stand together, the whole community shines brighter.
Who do you serve in our community?
We serve the families who need connection and support most. Our focus is on Ridgefield dads, kids, and families navigating life’s challenges. We help youth through sponsored activities and programs, assist seniors who need a hand, and support underprivileged families during difficult times.
Most importantly, we serve fathers who want to show up as their best selves — creating a network where they can lean on each other, grow together, and give back. When dads are connected and engaged, entire households and neighborhoods benefit.
We’re here for the new dad feeling overwhelmed, the family facing hardship, the kid who needs positive role models, and the senior who appreciates a community that cares. Everyone who calls Ridgefield & the surrounding areas home — but especially the ones who need us most.
We’re not a big national organization. We’re your neighbors — Ridgefield dads working together to make our community better.
What are you most proud of?
We’re most proud of turning personal loss into lasting community good.
When Ridgefield’s own Logan Hale passed away after a courageous battle with pediatric leukemia, our club rallied to honor his memory. Logan dreamed of connecting hospitalized kids through gaming. His favorite NFL player Christian McCaffrey honored his young superfan by launching The Logan Project to make that dream real.
Our members stepped up through dedicated fundraising campaigns and our community raised over $35,000 to help deliver gaming consoles to children’s hospitals. That support has already reached 7 local hospitals, with more kiosks heading to facilities nationwide in Logan’s name.
Watching our community transform grief into hope for other families was incredibly powerful. It perfectly reflects what we stand for: dads showing up for each other, supporting local families, and creating positive ripples that extend far beyond Ridgefield.
What was the spark that started your organization?
The spark that started the Ridgefield Fathers Club was when I became a father, moved to Ridgefield and wanted to connect with other dads — to share the highs and lows, swap advice, and build real friendships. I looked everywhere for dad-focused groups or events, but found almost nothing. Playgroups, meetups, and support networks existed in abundance for moms, yet dads had few options.
That gap was the spark. In 2018 I founded the Ridgefield Fathers Club so no dad in our town would have to navigate fatherhood alone. What began as a small circle of guys looking for connection quickly grew into something bigger — a charity of over 300 members dedicated to brotherhood, family support, and community impact.
Today, that original desire to connect still drives us: stronger dads mean stronger families and a stronger Ridgefield.
What is one of your future impact goals?
We want to expand our model so more towns can benefit. Our big vision is growing the Ridgefield Fathers Club into a national network — creating toolkits and support so other communities can launch their own chapters. Closer to home, we’re focused on building a dedicated operations center to host more events and programs year-round.
The goal is simple: turn one strong local club into a movement of great dads building great communities everywhere. Your vote gets us closer. Thank you for believing in our future!

We’re stronger because of the incredible local partners who stand with us.
Fairfield County Bank has been a true champion. We also work with standout Ridgefield businesses that sponsor events and believe in dad-powered community building, including Ridgefield Hardware, Ridgefield Thrift Shop, Tutoring Club, and American Metal. We’re grateful for generous local families like the Salaga family, and we team up with youth sports groups like Ridgefield Little League & the Ridgefield Basketball Association, family venues like the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, and service organizations like the Elks to reach more families.
These partnerships help us host better events, raise more for local causes, and create a true network of support across Ridgefield. Thank you to every partner helping us grow this movement — vote for the Ridgefield Fathers Club so we can keep building together!
