Under the spotlight today: Ridgebury Farm
An interview with Haley Levesque, Ridgebury Farm
How do you brighten our community?
We brighten our community by creating a space where people can slow down, feel welcomed, and reconnect, with nature, animals, and themselves. Whether it’s a child experiencing the barn for the first time, a rider gaining confidence, or a family finding a moment of peace together, Ridgebury Farm offers a sense of belonging and possibility. Through our programs, we bring light to everyday moments and create meaningful experiences that stay with people long after they leave the farm.
Who do you serve in our community?
We serve a diverse and growing community of individuals and families, including children, teens, and adults. At the heart of our work are those who benefit from therapeutic support through our hippotherapy and nature based therapy program, as well as participants in our nature-based learning and wellness horsemanship programs. We are especially committed to ensuring access for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate, removing financial and social barriers wherever we can.
What are you most proud of?
We are most proud of the transformations we witness every day, both big and small. From a child overcoming fear to take their first steps toward a horse, to a rider building strength, confidence, and independence over time, these moments are everything. We are also deeply proud of the inclusive, compassionate community we’ve built... one where every individual is seen, supported, and celebrated.
What was the spark that started your organization?
What is one of your future impact goals?
One of our key goals is to expand access to our therapeutic services so that cost is never a barrier to participation. We are working toward growing our scholarship and funding programs to ensure that more individuals and families can benefit from hippotherapy and our other offerings. By continuing to build community support, we hope to deepen our impact and reach even more people in meaningful, lasting ways.
How did you change a life?

Daily Bread Food Pantry
Daily Bread was started in 1984. However, we recognized that the Greater Danbury area needed to be served by a much more dignified and inclusive food pantry. Accordingly, just over a year ago, we opened a state-of-the-art new facility that incorporates the latest thinking in modern food pantries.
