Community Connections

Community Connections shines a light on local charities whose compassion, service, and dedication strengthen the fabric of our community. By sharing their stories, we hope to inspire others and help the spirit of giving spread throughout our towns.

Under the spotlight today: Norwalk Junior Soccer Association

An interview with Ericka Molina, Norwalk Junior Soccer Association

How do you brighten our community?

At NJSA, we brighten our community by creating a positive, welcoming environment where every child feels they belong. Soccer brings families together across different backgrounds, neighborhoods, and cultures, and we use the game to build confidence, friendships, teamwork, and community pride. Through affordable programming, volunteer support, and community partnerships, we strive to make youth sports accessible and meaningful for all families in Norwalk.

Who do you serve in our community?

NJSA serves children and families throughout Norwalk, with a strong focus on providing opportunities for players of all skill levels and financial backgrounds.
We work to ensure that no child is excluded from participating because of financial hardship by offering financial aid and scholarships.

What are you most proud of?

We are most proud of the community we have built. Seeing players develop confidence, discipline, leadership, and lifelong friendships through soccer is incredibly rewarding. Watching our players support one another and grow into positive role models is what motivates us every day.

What was the spark that started your organization?

What is one of your future impact goals?

One of NJSA’s biggest future goals is to expand our financial aid and scholarship opportunities so that even more children can participate regardless of income.

How did you change a life?

Who are your community partners?
